BLUE LINE WEST TO EAST

The Canal goes East to the Falkirk Wheel where boats change on to the Union Canal. West takes you through Glasgow to Bowling on the Clyde.

When I was a young lad and had a bicycle, before my motorbike days I remember cycling one day from my home along the canal bank to as far as Port Dundas. This was when the footpath had not collapsed but maintained not like today's path.
This was where, if I remember there was a basin and the canal split into two.
It was also possible then to jump off the Townhead Bridge and swim to the Hillhead Bridge without catching some incurable disease.

. . . and now it needs money. maintenance and traffic!
