THE SOCIETY HAVE MANY BOATS AND PLENTY ENTHUSIASM
When the canal was opened in 2001 thee Society started in 2003 to cultivate interest in it by supplying information, cruise facilities and increase the awareness of the Canal.
THE CANALSIDE "EAGLE HOTEL" IS A MUSEUM BUT THAT CAN CHANGE
This old building was apparently the headquarters for a firm while the canal was a viable commercial waterway. Through the years and the non alcholic time it became the town's Post Office. When it became too small as the town grew, new premises were built and the Social Services used it for a while before coming a Canal Museum.
